Women in ENT Surgery UK (WENTS) is an organisation affiliated with ENT UK with a primary remit to inspire, empower and support women in all stages of training, including qualified Consultants in ENT around the United Kingdom.
To launch a periodical podcast series for WENTS. To design, produce and publish a podcast ready for set up. The WENTS podcasts series content is to stimulate discussions around diversity and inclusivity, leading to a more equitable and thriving healthcare space.
Heather’s Media Hub produced an open-access podcast series from concept to publishing, with the aim of reaching a large audience of members and non-members.
I worked closely with the WENTS committee to develop a product that matched their vision, advising and guiding from the nuts and bolts of setting up a podcast to the design, format and flow. Collaborating with each episode host, the content was drafted and refined to be ready for the record. Once recorded, the direction and production of each episode were sculpted during the audio edit to a polished episode. Marketing support was also provided, providing press releases to send to the press, societies, associations and bodies.
The WENTS vision of a podcast covering difficult subjects sensitively was achieved:
- Released six series episodes
- Attract industry sponsorship
- 1300 downloads in 35 countries
- Raised the profile of the society and set the scene for future conversation topics.
